users are not required to visit the service center. Nepal Telecom already
started its eSIM service in Nepal couple of months ago. Here we will be

What is eSIM? A short introduction to eSIM
An eSIM is a digital SIM that eliminates the need for a
physical SIM card in short for embedded SIM. It uses a built-in chip with the
device to do away with the hassle of insertion & removal that comes with
the traditional physical SIM.
What is the process of getting an eSIM with Ncell?
- Type citizenship number, Email ID and send SMS to 17125. (SMS is Free). SIM will be upgraded to eSIM post verification. For eg. XX-XX-XX-XXXXX,abc@xyz.com
- And sent the SMS to 17125
After this process Ncell representative verifies your
information, you will be notified if your current SIM can be converted to an
eSIM or not. After that, a QR code with your eSIM profile will be emailed to
you. Also, you can visit your nearest Ncell Centre to upgrade to eSIM.
How to install an Ncell eSIM?
To set up eSIM, open up the settings menu and search for
"Add Mobile Plan" (for Android) or "Add Cellular Plan" (for
iPhone). This option might have a different name depending on the smartphone
manufacturer but you should find it under the "SIM card Manager" menu
inside settings. Now, you will get an option to scan a QR code with your eSIM
profile. Just follow the on-screen instruction to customize the plan name if
required.
